Research Archive

The Archives of the Seville Preservation Project is made of photographs, postcards, advertisements, maps, books, and objects relating to the architectural history of Seville, Ohio that have been generously provided to the SPP as physical or digital objects. The Archives seek to preserve and maintain material for research and study, to help those looking to understand and interpret the architectural history of our community.

Material from collections within the Archives have been used as documentation for the restoration of several historic buildings in downtown Seville, by providing evidence for the replacement and recreation of missing or damages historic structural features that were significant to past occupants of the building.

The Seville Preservation Project encourages free access to the archival materials gathered by the SPP from private and public sources, for your own private research and use.

Those looking to use materials from the Archive for commercial or public use may do so on the condition that material is properly cited as belonging to the "Archive at the Seville Preservation Project" for all materials used.

Please note that additional credits may be associated with specific objects and/or collections within the Archive, in order to give credit to those who have donated or provided access to that material.

Please contact us for questions about higher resolution images or full credit lines needed for publication or commercial use by any third party.

As the Archive grows we will seek new ways of making materials in the collection available to the public. While not all of the Archive has been made available online at this time, we welcome research requests for additional images and/or access to original materials. Please note that some digital and online access may be restricted for publication and recent materials that may be subject to U.S. and international copyright laws.

The Archive of the Seville Preservation Project is always adding to the collection of photographs, postcards, and objects created from the establishment of Seville in 1916 to materials created today that relate to the architecture and function of buildings and spaces in and around Seville, Ohio.

If you would like to help add to this resource, we welcome donations of physical or digital photographs, postcards, documents, books, maps, and home videos/film. Please contact the Seville Preservation Project, or email the Archive at; sevillepreservation@gmail.com

If you have material you would like to provide the Archive access to, but cannot donate them at this time, the Seville Preservation Project would welcome the opportunity to scan your material and preserve digital copies for the Archive, to make them available to the community to help with future of ongoing projects.

Additionally, the Archive welcomes any oral or written histories you may have of Seville and/or the surrounding area that you would like to allow us to preserve.

Please note that donations of any kind are not tax deductible at this time, while we seek federal recognition.
